As you probably guessed Matt, both are faith systems. The problem being is the prevailing bias towards the Genesis cosmology. It is always presented as a doctrine that can be readily "synthesized" w/ the popular thoughts of the day. If these synthesis philosophies are not based in evidence, and are in fact not the truth, are we to sacrifice truth for the sake of appealing to the concensus view, to make ourselves appear to be more "scholarly"? I think one should look at the reason why these antithetical philosophies of materialism exist in the first place. |
