Or it might be because there are design ethics for which we are overlooking in this scenario. Just what are the ribcage and sternum anyhow. If the abdomen were a solid aggregate of bony matter (like what you are suggesting) we couldn’t bend over forward nor backward, or even flex side to side! Seems like we’re discussing biomechanics with a twist of philosophy to boot. |
