Brian; I thought I gave you a pretty good explanation. But again, let’s look at it this way: No intermediates to link up the class Therapsida to Mammalia, the lines in cladograms are all dotted for a reason. OK, and no way to know if the articular and quadrate of therapsids turned into the incus and malleus without assuming first that the art/quj are in fact inc/mal in an evolutionary sequence. In other words, you have to assume evolution is true before interpreting the evidence. |
