Regarding the Hox and homoeotic genes, quote; "Biologists now believe that appendages like insect wings and the proboscis a mosquito jabs you with evolved from spare leg segments." You still have to explain where the locomotive system (legs) came about, as well as the origin and functionality of the homoeotic genes to do any locative appendage functionality in the first place. |
