BONNETTE, PROFESSOR DENNIS. Author of the Ape language and Philosophical objections pages of this site. At the end of 2003, Dr. He received his doctorate in philosophy from the University of Notre Dame in 1970, and taught philosophy at the college level for more than 40 years. Dr. Bonnette was a faculty member of the San Diego College for Women, Loyola University in New Orleans, and the University of Dayton, before coming to Niagara University. He has participated in many radio and television programs on social, ethical, and theological topics in the course of his career, and written a number of scholarly articles as well as two books, Aquinas' Proofs for God’s Existence and Origin of the Human Species. This last work has just been published in a second edition (Sapientia Press: 2003) with a new foreword by Dr. Michael J. Behe, Full Professor of Biological Sciences at Lehigh University and author of Darwin's Black Box. Dr. Bonnette and his wife, Lois, live in Youngstown, NY. I have a BSc (Human + Social Sciences) and later training in software engineering, working in this field. I have also done teaching and tutoring further and higher education. I was brought up as a Christian, and my faith has grown, especially over the last 20 years. In zoology A level, our teacher once gave us an exercise to assess the relative biological success of amoeba and man. The amoeba won easily. I have always been interested in issues of philosophy, ideology, faith and science. For me, evolution (particularly the current neo-Darwinian view of speciation) is nowhere near adequate to be a comprehensive explanation of all the miraculous complexities of life. Valuing science, I don’t wish to see its integrity compromised by preconceptions or leaps of logic common from the neo-atheist platform. With God all things are possible. The ethical implication of physicalism is also very dangerous, and the public can again be misled. (“Why shouldn’t one bunch of molecules obliterate another? “) These pass unnoticed by the general reader, but can hinder moral criticism in society. To top.
DeYOUNG, DR DON. Don DeYoung has contributed short pieces to the Flood and Early man pages. Don Dr. DeYoung is also on the summer faculty of the Institute for Creation Research, San Diego. He is a graduate of Michigan Tech University (B.S., M.S., Physics), Iowa State University (Ph.D., Physics), and Grace Seminary (M. Div.). His writings have appeared in many periodicals. He has also written twelve books on Bible-science topics, including object lessons for children. Dr. DeYoung is a member of the Indiana Academy of Science and the AuSable Environmental Institute. He is currently president of the Creation Research Society with 1,700 members worldwide. This group funds research, publishes a technical journal, and operates a laboratory in Arizona. EAGER, DIANE. I am a medical graduate, but have spent most of my time in medical education and doing some research. I became interested in the Creation and evolution issue because I was never happy with the idea that Genesis and evolution were describing the same events. As I looked at the evidence and discussed it with other people I found more and more evidence that fitted the Bible but not evolution.
I now spend most of my time doing research, writing and presentation preparation in Creation topics. I also give slide presentations, mainly on biology and design and some Biblical topics. Mc INTOSH, PROFESSOR ANDY. DSc, FIMA, C.Math, FEI, C.Eng, FInstP, MIGEM, FRAeS. Professor Andy McIntosh (Leeds) holds an emeritus chair in Thermodynamics and Combustion Theory, and has He has a PhD in combustion theory from the aerodynamics department of what was then Cranfield Institute of Technology (now Cranfield University), a DSc in Applied Mathematics from the University of Wales and worked for a number of years at the Royal Aircraft Establishment. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications, the Institute of Energy, the Institute of Physics and the Royal Aeronautical Society. A chartered mathematician and engineer. author of over 150 papers and articles, his research has been in combustion in fluids and solids. His work has also included investigations into the fundamental link between thermodynamics and information, and in the last few years he has been involved in research in the area of biomimetics where the minute combustion chamber of the bombardier beetle has inspired a patented novel spray technology with applications to fuel injectors, pharmaceutical sprays, fire extinguishers and aerosols. This research was awarded the 2010 Times Higher Educational award for the Outstanding Contribution to Innovation and Technology. Dr Andy C. I have worked in science for about 30 years and have an Honours equivalent in applied biology specialising in medical microbiology, a Masters degree in Immunology and a PhD in the area of antibiotic resistance in the bacteria Salmonella. Whilst studying I found that there were aspects of the theory of evolution that were hard to accept, where the science seemed very flimsy and the assumptions huge.
After being a Christian for some years I came across books and videos that questioned the science behind the theory of evolution, and the arguments seemed sound. I thought I would try my hand at putting together the main arguments on a web site, and this is the result! The aim of the site is not to put down those that believe in evolution, but to try and present in a fair way some of the weaknesses of the theory of evolution for any who might be interested. Andrew has worked as a weather forecaster for a number of years, including presentation of forecasts on BBC local radio. He completed an MSc in Environmental Decision Making in 2003 with the Open University, and as a Christian he has developed a keen interest in environmental and social ethics. He is also a Council Member of the Creation Science Movement based in Portsmouth, which was founded in 1932 to challenge the ethical, theological and scientific implications that belief in evolution presents to society.
