AUTHORS PAGE OF WAS DARWIN RIGHT?

This web site was put together in November 2000 by Dr Luke Randall and is owned, maintained and run by him. However, several others including Joe Baker, Professor Dennis Bonnette, Dr Don DeYoung, Diane Eager, Mike Gascoigne, Craig Hampton, Professor Andy McIntosh, Andrew Sibley, Dr Mark Toleman and Paul Taylor have contributed in different ways.

The authors share a common belief the Darwinian evolution is not the explanation of all life on earth but that God had a creative input. However, some of the authors may have differing viewpoints as to what exactly was the level of creative input from God and how literally the six days of creation as described in the Bible should be taken.

BAKER, JOE. I am now 24 years old (2006) and have spent the last year of my life touring the country (USA), speaking to high school students on worldview issues including the Creation versus evolution debate. I have spoken in 30 states and driven through almost every one of the 50.
The Lord has taught me some amazing lessons since high school, and now I am beginning my first book that may take a few years to write. Right now most of my life is consumed with personal discovery and preparing for the next section of my journey. At present (2004) I am working and training in Alaska under the leadership of John Eldridge of Ransomed Heart Ministries.
Joe has been on TV and radio in the USA to talk about the Creation versus evolution issue. Joe has contributed to parts of this site including on the FAQ and Does it matter pages and has also contributed by responding to posted comments. To top.

BONNETTE, PROFESSOR DENNIS. Author of the Ape language and Philosophical objections pages of this site. At the end of 2003, Dr. Dennis Bonnette retired as Full Professor of Philosophy at Niagara University in Lewiston, New York, where he was also Chairman of the Philosophy Department from 1992 to 2002.

He received his doctorate in philosophy from the University of Notre Dame in 1970, and taught philosophy at the college level for more than 40 years. Dr. Bonnette was a faculty member of the San Diego College for Women, Loyola University in New Orleans, and the University of Dayton, before coming to Niagara University.

He has participated in many radio and television programs on social, ethical, and theological topics in the course of his career, and written a number of scholarly articles as well as two books, Aquinas' Proofs for God’s Existence and Origin of the Human Species. This last work has just been published in a second edition (Sapientia Press: 2003) with a new foreword by Dr. Michael J. Behe, Full Professor of Biological Sciences at Lehigh University and author of Darwin's Black Box.

Dr. Bonnette and his wife, Lois, live in Youngstown, NY. They have seven adult children and fifteen grandchildren To top.

BUDD, MARTIN. Author of a review of Stephen Hawkins book The Grand Design: New Answers to the Ultimate Questions of Life.

I have a BSc (Human + Social Sciences) and later training in software engineering, working in this field. I have also done teaching and tutoring further and higher education.  I was brought up as a Christian, and my faith has grown, especially over the last 20 years.

In zoology A level, our teacher once gave us an exercise to assess the relative biological success of amoeba and man.  The amoeba won easily.  I have always been interested in issues of philosophy, ideology, faith and science.

For me, evolution (particularly the current neo-Darwinian view of speciation) is nowhere near adequate to be a comprehensive explanation of all the miraculous complexities of life.  Valuing  science, I don’t wish to see its integrity compromised by preconceptions or leaps of logic common from the neo-atheist platform. With God all things are possible.

The ethical implication of physicalism is also very dangerous, and the public can again be misled.  (“Why shouldn’t one bunch of molecules obliterate another? “)   These pass unnoticed by the general reader, but can hinder moral criticism in society. To top.

DeYOUNG, DR DON. Don DeYoung has contributed short pieces to the Flood and Early man pages.

Don DeYoung is Chairman of the Physical Science Department, Grace College, Winona Lake, Indiana. Courses taught include physics, astronomy, and mathematics.  He has taught at Grace since 1972 with sabbatical leaves spent in California, Europe, and the South Pacific.

Dr. DeYoung is also on the summer faculty of the Institute for Creation Research, San Diego. He is a graduate of Michigan Tech University (B.S., M.S., Physics), Iowa State University (Ph.D., Physics), and Grace Seminary (M. Div.).  His writings have appeared in many periodicals.  He has also written twelve books on Bible-science topics, including object lessons for children.

Dr. DeYoung is a member of the Indiana Academy of Science and the AuSable Environmental Institute. He is currently president of the Creation Research Society with 1,700 members worldwide. This group funds research, publishes a technical journal, and operates a laboratory in Arizona. Don speaks on creation topics and believes that the details of nature are a powerful testimony to the Creator's care for mankind.

Dr. DeYoung and his wife Sally have three married daughters.  In their local church Don is an elder, Sunday School teacher, and board member of Warsaw Christian School. To top

EAGER, DIANE.  I am a medical graduate, but have spent most of my time in medical education and doing some research. I became interested in the Creation and evolution issue because I was never happy with the idea that Genesis and evolution were describing the same events. As I looked at the evidence and discussed it with other people I found more and more evidence that fitted the Bible but not evolution.

I now spend most of my time doing research, writing and presentation preparation in Creation topics. I also give slide presentations, mainly on biology and design and some Biblical topics. I currently work full time for Creation Research in Australia.

Diane Eager has contributed to this site by writing most of the Complexity page and writing some parts of the FAQ page.  Diane currently attends an Evangelical Anglican Church. Diane currently attends an Evangelical Anglican Church. To top.

GASCOIGNE, MIKE. B.Sc., M.S., C.Eng., M.I.Chem.E., M.I.S.T.C., City & Guilds Stage 1 Certificate in Teaching Adult Learners. Mike Gascoigne

Author of the History page of this site.

My name is Mike Gascoigne and I am the author of two books:

  • Forgotten History of the Western People: From the Earliest Origins.

  • Impossible Theology: The Christian Evolutionist Dilemma.

I started off as a chemical engineer and then went freelance and wrote manuals on all sorts of subjects that are described on my technical writing page. Sometimes people ask why someone with a scientific background should be writing historical and theological books, and the answer is that everything fits together, and you can't understand anything in isolation. In particular, if you try to write about the very early history of the world, during the first few centuries after the Flood, people always ask science questions.

Send me a message if you want to talk about any of these subjects. To top.

HAMPTON, CRAIG. I live in the USA and am married with two children. For several years I have been interested in the Creation versus evolution debate and have contributed to this site by responding to many past comments posted to this site and by writing a part of the Anti Creation page.

I grew up in a Christian home and have essentially been a Christian all my life. Although I grew up in the Methodist church, I transitioned with my family to a church in the Nazarene denomination when I was in high school and have stayed there ever since.  I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and should have my Masters of Business Administration degree completed by May 2005 if all goes as planned . RANDALL, DR LUKE. C. Biol, M.I.Biol, M.Sc. PhD I have worked in science for about 30 years and have an Honours equivalent in applied biology specialising in medical microbiology, a Masters degree in Immunology and a PhD in the area of antibiotic resistance in the bacteria Salmonella. Whilst studying I found that there were aspects of the theory of evolution that were hard to accept, where the science seemed very flimsy and the assumptions huge.

After being a Christian for some years I came across books and videos that questioned the science behind the theory of evolution, and the arguments seemed sound. I thought I would try my hand at putting together the main arguments on a web site, and this is the result!

The aim of the site is not to put down those that believe in evolution, but to try and present in a fair way some of the weaknesses of the theory of evolution for any who might be interested.

Like all of us I am learning, so feel free contact us if you disagree with any information on this site.

SIBLEY, ANDREW. BSc, MSc EDM (Open), FRMetS. Andrew  mainly wrote the Big Bang page and also wrote all of the page giving a review of Denis Alexander's book Creation or Evolution, do we have to choose.

Andrew has worked as a weather forecaster for a number of years, including presentation of forecasts on BBC local radio. He completed an MSc in Environmental Decision Making in 2003 with the Open University, and as a Christian he has developed a keen interest in environmental and social ethics. He is also a Council Member of the Creation Science Movement based in Portsmouth, which was founded in 1932 to challenge the ethical, theological and scientific implications that belief in evolution presents to society.

Andrew has recently (2005) written a book Restoring the ethics of Creation To top.

TAYLOR
, PAUL
. Paul lives in Auckland, NZ and is married and has two adult daughters and one grandson. Paul is active in caring for the whole family as his main focus but likes to spend time on the computer, sending and receiving emails and browsing the Internet. His main interests there include following the discussions around Creation and evolution and learning about Linux and computer security issues.

In an earlier stage of his life, Paul worked as an Accountant, with a major segment as Cost Accountant for a factory producing fibreglass insulation. It was in this role that he began his interest in computing, initially programming the costing functions on a programmable calculator, then overseeing the programming for one of the first commercial desktop computers

One of his main achievements was building the family home during a short leave from this office job. His interest in Creation Science began as a teenager when he was confronted by the challenge of evolution but flowered when he was unable to work following an illness and became acquainted with Creation Research founder, John Mackay, at a Creation workshop.

Paul has contributed immensely to  this site by careful proof reading of many pages with editorial suggestions. Paul has also suggested many of the useful links in the Links page and has responded to many of the comments posted to this site in the past. To top

TOKELEY, CHRISTOPHER, J. author of "Adam Ate With Dinosaurs" and the Bible False page of this site.

Chris Tokeley studied theology under Rev. Dr Ernest Kevan, BD, MTh, PhD, Principal of the London Bible College, while continuing his career in international trade finance.

He worked for nine years alongside scientists in the policy division of a research establishment.

For sixteen years he was a leader of an Anglican Church plant.

Recently he has given over his time to writing. He is currently writing on three Welsh Anglican ministers who brought the principality back to God in the eighteenth century. To top

TOLEMAN, DR MARK B.Sc. M.Sc (Distinction) Ph.D.

I am happily married with six children and became a Christian at University ~ 20 years ago after being confronted with the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ together with the fact that I had fallen far short of His standards.

Despite almost constant text book bashing and evolutionary brain-washing throughout my education the general theory of evolution has always appeared to me as no more than a fashionable belief.

In the last few years I have become more interested in looking at the details of the evidence for and against evolution and the impact of evolutionary belief on society. I am amazed at the wild dogmatic statements of the text books based on such flimsy and incomplete evidence and the awful fruit that this theory has produced in our Western society.

I am currently employed by the University of Cardiff (2008) as a Research Fellow. I also have tutorial and lecture teaching commitments. My main area of expertise is the genetics of antibiotic resistance in bacteria. I have authored or co-authored over fifty peer-reviewed publications and presentations at major scientific meetings in this area and have served as a reviewer for several journals.

Mark had kindly contributed the evolution of evolution article to this site.
